Former BRS MLA Rega Kantha Rao booked on woman’s complaint

Panjagutta police have registered a case against former BRS MLA Rega Kantha Rao after a woman accused him of sexual exploitation, deceit, criminal intimidation and financial fraud. The Hans India reports the complaint was filed on July 26.

The woman alleges Rao physically exploited her under the pretext of marriage, secretly recorded private videos without her knowledge, and collected a large sum of money from her for fake real estate investments. She also claims he accessed her phone and sent messages to her female friend.

Police have charged Rao under sections 69 (sexual intercourse by deceitful means) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. An expedited investigation is under way.
