Heavy rains damage over 60 homes in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Heavy rain has caused significant damage in Odisha's Keonjhar district, with more than 60 houses damaged in Kendipashi panchayat under Patna tehsil, Odisha TV reports. Several families have been displaced, with some forced to leave their homes and take shelter in safer locations.

The worst-hit area is Silida village under the Kendeipashi RI circle, where around 30 houses have been damaged. Damage has also been reported in Khuntapada, Kendeipashi, Anadhia, Kendapada and Kashipur villages. Household belongings were destroyed when houses collapsed or sustained major damage.

Residents have urged the district administration to assess the damage and provide immediate assistance. With more rain forecast, concerns remain about further damage to houses and property in the affected villages.
