Hugh Jackman asks Kevin Feige for Avengers: Doomsday role

At Disney’s D23 fan event, Hugh Jackman sent a video message to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, asking if Feige needed help “rounding out the cast” of the upcoming film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’. The Wolverine star hinted he could bring Ryan Reynolds along, reviving their ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ pairing. The Times of India and Odisha TV report that the message was played during the expo, where Marvel also showed a trailer featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Reynolds later shared the video on Instagram, captioning it: “If this feels like a hostage video, it’s because it’s a hostage video.”

Neither Jackman nor Reynolds has been officially confirmed for the film, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. The Times of India notes that ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, released in 2024, earned USD 1.338 billion worldwide and remains the highest-grossing R-rated film. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, and will face competition from Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune 3’ at the box office. Both outlets emphasise that Jackman’s message is a playful request, not an announcement.
