Financier agrees no upfront payment for Sathuranga Vettai 2 release

The long-delayed Tamil film Sathuranga Vettai 2 is finally set for release after financier Madurai Anbuchezhiyan agreed to let the movie hit theatres without any upfront payment. Theatre owner and distributor Tiruppur Subramaniam said in a YouTube chat that he approached Anbuchezhiyan, who responded by saying he did not want any money now and would settle his share from revenue later. The film stars Arvind Swamy and Trisha in lead roles, with the late Daniel Balaji, Nassar, and others in supporting roles.

The sequel, directed by N.V. Nirmal Kumar and written by H. Vinoth, had been stuck for years. The first part was a popular hit. Late actor and producer Manobala, who had tried hard to bring the film to theatres, died without seeing it released. Those close to him said the delay affected him deeply. With the financier's gesture, the makers and fans hope the project will finally see the light of day.
