Arvind Swamy-Trisha film Sathuranga Vettai 2 nears release after decade

Long-delayed Tamil film Sathuranga Vettai 2, starring Arvind Swamy and Trisha, is finally moving towards release after financier Madurai Anbuchezhiyan agreed to let the film hit theatres without upfront payment. The Times of India reports that theatre owner Tiruppur Subramaniam approached Anbuchezhiyan, who said: "I do not want any money now. Let the film release first, and my share can be settled later from the revenue."

Directed by N.V. Nirmal Kumar and written by H. Vinoth, the sequel was shot between 2016 and 2017 but remained unreleased despite completing production. Cinema Express reports the cast includes the late Daniel Balaji, Nassar, Radharavi, Dheeraj Rathnam, Sriman, PV Chandramoulli, and Kambam Shankar. The move revives hopes for a project that late producer-actor Manobala had worked on before his death in 2023, and fans have waited years for its release.
