Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills properties on prohibited list

Hundreds of properties in Hyderabad's upmarket Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills have been placed on the Section 22-A prohibited list, blocking sale, transfer or mortgage of the land. The list includes properties near Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's residence on Road No. 44. Residents discovered the restriction when attempting to sell their homes, with the Banjara Hills sub-registrar asking for a No-Objection Certificate from the Hyderabad collector.

The Jubilee Hills Cooperative House Building Society said about 300 of its 3,035 plots are affected, mainly those over 1,200 sq yards, citing Urban Land Ceiling rules. In Banjara Hills, Stone Valley Apartments, whose president is state election commissioner I Rani Kumudini, has written to the Hyderabad collector seeking removal from the list. Credai Hyderabad has called for government intervention, saying arbitrary inclusions have turned legitimate owners into victims of administrative oversight.

The Hyderabad district has not yet revised or published its 22-A list, unlike other districts. The Shaikpet tahsildar said the list is under revision. Affected owners are approaching the revenue department and planning to meet the revenue minister.
