IMU Kochi invites applications for 2 faculty posts
The Story in Brief
Indian Maritime University's Kochi Campus has opened applications for two faculty positions in Logistics and Supply Chain Management on a contract basis. Eligible candidates must hold an MBA or M.Com in a relevant field with at least 55% marks, along with a PhD or UGC NET, and two years of teaching experience. The maximum age is 60 years as of 4 November 2026.
The initial contract is for six months, renewable, starting from January or February 2027. Applications in the prescribed format must be sent by Registered or Speed post and by email to reach the Deputy Registrar at the Kochi campus by 5 December 2026. Selection will be through an interview, and only shortlisted candidates will be called.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The two faculty positions at IMU Kochi's logistics department are contract roles with no fixed pay scale or application fee stated, leaving candidates to negotiate terms in an interview. The six-month renewable contract and one-month termination clause signal temporary staffing, not a permanent academic career path. Applicants must hold both a relevant postgraduate degree and PhD or NET, plus two years of teaching experience, limiting the pool. The university retains the right to shortlist beyond stated qualifications, adding uncertainty. The 5 December deadline is the only concrete next step for interested candidates.
