Inde Navarrette cast as Rogue in Marvel’s X-Men reboot

Inde Navarrette, the 25-year-old actress known for her award-winning performance in the horror film 'Obsession', has been cast as Rogue in Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men reboot, directed by Jake Schreier. The Times of India reports that Navarrette's journey from streaming video games on Twitch and YouTube to landing one of Marvel's most iconic mutant roles marks a major career breakthrough.

Navarrette, born Danielle Fabiola Navarrette in Tucson, Arizona, attended 11 different schools by age 15 due to her father's military career. She gained wider recognition as Estela de la Cruz in Netflix's '13 Reasons Why' and later played Sarah Cortez in 'Superman & Lois'. Her role in 'Obsession' earned critical praise and several awards, putting her on Hollywood's radar. Navarrette has said she deleted her old Twitch streams because she feared people would not take her seriously as an actress.

Rogue is a central X-Men character who absorbs others' powers and memories through touch. Navarrette had previously expressed interest in playing Mystique. Her casting places her at the centre of Marvel's next X-Men era.
