Adam Driver, Christopher Abbott to star in Marvel’s X-Men reboot

Marvel Studios has announced the cast of its upcoming X-Men film, set for release on May 5, 2028, with Jake Schreier directing. Adam Driver will play Nathaniel Milbury, an alias for Mister Sinister, as confirmed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige at Disney's D23 fan event. Christopher Abbott portrays Professor Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette is Rogue, and Maya Boyd plays Storm, cinemaexpress.com and hindustantimes.com report.

The event also confirmed Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, and Kit Connor as Cyclops. Driver initially joked he would play Magneto before revealing his actual role, sources note. The film will be the first X-Men theatrical release since Disney acquired Fox's film assets in 2019. Screenwriters Joanna Calo (The Bear) and Lee Sung Jin (Beef) are working on the script.

The new X-Men cast met for the first time backstage, Feige said. Previous actors Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy have played Professor X in earlier X-Men films. Stewart is set to return as Professor X in Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release on December 18, 2026.
