Indian Army starts five-day Agniveer recruitment rally in Tripura
The Indian Army’s Agniveer Recruitment Rally 2026 began on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at the Dasarath Deb State Sports Complex in Badharghat, Agartala. The five-day drive, organised under the Spear Corps and Army Recruiting Office, Silchar, will run until 17 October.
The first batch of 337 candidates started with the mandatory 1.6-kilometre timed run. Those who clear it proceed to Physical Fitness Tests, Physical Measurement Tests, document verification and preliminary medical checks. Registrations are up 92 per cent compared with earlier cycles, the Army said.
The rally has two phases: physical tests and checks run from 13 to 15 October, while specialised medical evaluations and administrative formalities are scheduled for 16 and 17 October. The Agartala civil administration and Army personnel have set up holding areas, medical stations and water facilities at the venue.
Indian Opinion Analysis
A 92 per cent jump in registrations signals a surge in interest among Tripura’s youth in the Agniveer pathway, far exceeding typical recruitment cycles. The Army has split the process into two clear phases, with physical tests in the first three days and specialised medical checks in the last two. Candidates from across the state are being processed in daily batches, and the civil administration has coordinated logistics at the sports complex. The outcome to watch is how many of the 337 in the first batch clear all stages by 17 October.
