Jagadeesan and Shahrukh open up on cricket challenges ahead of TNPL tie

Chepauk Super Gillies captain N. Jagadeesan and Vida Kovai Kings skipper Shahrukh Khan shared their perspectives on handling pressure and failure ahead of their Tuesday TNPL match. Speaking to thehindu.com, the seasoned Tamil Nadu cricketers discussed the mental demands of their roles.

Shahrukh, 31, said the toughest job is batting down the order, where success brings high praise and failure invites harsh criticism. As a finisher, he added, "I need to have a good relationship with myself." Jagadeesan said he is okay accepting failure, which he believes is essential for expressing himself in a format with frequent setbacks. He attributed his relationship with failure to his love for the game, reminding himself to enjoy the sport amid professional pressures.
