Jaiswal joins Tendulkar in unique Test venues feat in Galle

Yashasvi Jaiswal became only the third Indian cricketer to play his first 30 Test matches at 30 different venues. The opener achieved the feat during the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, joining Sachin Tendulkar and Sanjay Manjrekar in the exclusive list. Times Now reports that Tendulkar played his first 32 Tests at 32 different venues and Manjrekar his first 33 at different grounds.

Jaiswal made his debut against West Indies in 2023 at Roseau, Dominica. Since then he has played in South Africa, England, Australia and now Sri Lanka, never repeating a venue. He is set to go past both Manjrekar and Tendulkar as India's next four Tests are scheduled in Colombo, Wellington, Christchurch and Nagpur, all new for him.

On day one of the Galle Test, Jaiswal scored 32 off 37 balls in the first innings. India received a boost for day two as KL Rahul, who walked off with cramps late on day one, has been declared fit to bat by batting coach Sitanshu Kotak.
