Karimnagar residents protest delay in Rs 154-crore ROB work

Residents of the 2nd and 3rd divisions of Karimnagar Municipal Corporation staged a dharna near the railway track at Teegalaguttapalli on Sunday, protesting the delay in completing the Road Over Bridge (ROB) near the railway station. The protest was organised by the 3rd Division Congress Committee.

The protesters alleged that the slow progress of the Rs 154-crore ROB, taken up under the Central government's Setu Bandhan programme, was causing severe traffic problems on the Karimnagar-Choppadandi main road. They demanded that authorities expedite the work to ease hardships for daily commuters, especially students, patients, and ambulances.

The Hindu reports that the project's tardy pace has been a major grievance for locals. No timeline for completion has been announced yet.
