Kejriwal urges Centre to buy cheaper oil from Russia and Iran

Aam Aadmi Party convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday urged the Centre to buy cheaper oil and gas from Russia and Iran, citing rising petrol, diesel and cooking gas prices. He warned of fuel shortages affecting farmers, pointing to reports from Gujarat where long queues of tractors were seen outside petrol pumps.

Kejriwal said farmers faced severe difficulties in obtaining diesel, directly impacting farming operations. He questioned why the Government of India was not purchasing fuel from Russia and Iran despite the possibility of reducing costs, and appealed for quick action to provide relief from shortages and high prices.
