Khalifa Trailer and Advance Booking: Prithviraj Film Crosses Rs 1 Crore in 8 Hours

Prithviraj Sukumaran's upcoming film Khalifa has crossed Rs 1 crore in advance booking gross in Kerala within 8 hours of opening, according to trade analyst AB George. The film, directed by Vysakh and releasing on August 20, will clash with Nivin Pauly's Bethlehem Kudumba Unit during Onam.

Koimoi reports that the trailer, released four days before the film, features Prithviraj as a stylish international smuggler with mass dialogues and action sequences. However, the review notes the trailer lacks an 'oomph factor' and sufficient story to draw viewers in, though the music by Jakes Bejoy is praised.

The film is Prithviraj's first part of a planned franchise, following two box-office failures. To become his biggest solo Malayalam opener, Khalifa needs to surpass Rs 7.6 crore net on day one, a milestone Aadujeevitham achieved in 2024.
