ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ SMILE ಯೋಜನೆ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 2022 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಯಿತು. ಇದರ ಮೂಲಕ 12,710 ಭಿಕ್ಷಾಟಕರು ಮತ್ತು 1,041 ತೃತೀಯ ಲಿಂಗಿಗಳ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಆರೈಕೆ, ಸಲಹೆ, ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಮತ್ತು ಆಶ್ರಯವನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. 2025 ರಲ್ಲಿ NIRDPR ನ ಮೂರನೇ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಮೌಲ್ಯಮಾಪನ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ಯೋಜನೆ 2026-27 ರಿಂದ 2030-31 ರವರೆಗೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ.
