Konda Surekha writes to Congress disciplinary panel, denies orchestrated attack

Telangana minister Konda Surekha has written to the Congress disciplinary committee, complaining that party leaders and elected representatives are making insulting remarks against her and her family. She asked the panel to identify the 'invisible forces' behind these comments and take action, even as she faces a show-cause notice over her daughter Sushmita's allegations against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. The minister said she has full respect for the party leadership and has already replied to the notice.

The complaint comes after 20 Congress MLAs and MLCs demanded her removal, alleging her statements are hurting the party. Political analysts view Surekha's letter as a 'reverse gear' strategy, positioning herself as a strong BC leader under attack. Meanwhile, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Gowda backed Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, who is also facing criticism. The Congress high command has not yet responded to the crisis, which has fuelled speculation that Revanth Reddy's hold over the party has weakened.

Surekha's daughter had made serious allegations against the chief minister and other leaders, triggering the disciplinary action. The minister is now questioning the timing of the attacks during the ongoing inquiry, and has urged the committee to consider whether public condemnation is an attempt to influence its decision.
