Kunickaa Sadanand joins Jharkhand students’ protest over exam irregularities

Actor Kunickaa Sadanand on Sunday visited the Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi to support students protesting alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission. The agitation has entered its fourth week, with several students on hunger strike.

Speaking to ANI, Sadanand urged the government to be 'transparent, accountable, and listen to these children'. She also advised students to 'give the government time and take a solid promise from them in writing'. Hindustan Times reports that 19 people have been arrested by Jharkhand CID in connection with the recruitment racket, which is suspected to involve approximately Rs 40 crore.

The students are demanding a CBI probe and the cancellation of the JSSC-CGL examination. They have warned of a sit-in protest outside Chief Minister Hemant Soren's residence on August 20 if their demands are not met. The government has called agitating students for a seventh round of talks on Monday.
