The makers of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi Season 2 have dismissed rumours that the show is shutting down. In a statement, they called the reports 'baseless' and said there is no end date for the show as yet. The rumours claimed the show would be replaced by a spin-off titled Kyunki Rishton Ke Bhi Roop Badallte Hain.

The spin-off, inspired by the title song of the original series, has been separately announced. Smriti Irani, who reprises her role as Tulsi Virani, had earlier asked fans to verify the source of the spin-off news. The second season, which premiered on July 29, 2025, streams on JioHotstar and airs on television.
