Madhuri Dixit’s ‘Maskara’ rendition wows Vedang Raina and Sharvari

Madhuri Dixit Nene has posted a video on Instagram lip-syncing to 'Maskara' from Imtiaz Ali's film 'Main Vaapas Aaunga', drawing praise from the film's cast. Times Now reports that Vedang Raina, a lead actor, commented on her post: "The epitome of grace!!! Peakk shokh adaayein!!!!! Thank you ma'am." Cinema Express adds that co-star Sharvari responded: "This just made my day! Thank you sooo much ma'am. Aapki Adaayein!! Uffff!"

The film's digital partner Netflix, cited by both outlets, called Madhuri "the absolute queen of shokh adaayein." Composer AR Rahman and director Imtiaz Ali also shared their appreciation for her rendition on Instagram Stories, according to Cinema Express.

Released in theatres on June 12, 2026, the Partition-era love story overcame a slow first weekend through word of mouth. Times Now reports it collected approximately Rs 99 crore worldwide, while Cinema Express puts the figure at about Rs 100 crore. The film, budgeted at Rs 70 crore per Times Now, is now streaming on Netflix.
