Maharashtra FDA suspends Parle Agro warehouse, seizes expired Frooti

The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has suspended the licence of a Parle Agro-linked warehouse in Chembur after finding expired batches of Frooti, Appy Fizz, and Candy Juice worth Rs 99,970. The Velocity Express facility near Chembur Naka was inspected through the night, and officials sealed the warehouse and detained two vehicles.

The action is part of a wider crackdown by FDA commissioner Tukaram Mundhe. The agency inspected 86 online food outlets, suspending 14 licences including five each from Blinkit and Zepto, and two from Instamart. Separately, 109 hotels and restaurants were checked, with four licences suspended. The FDA also registered 10 FIRs for banned pan masala and gutkha and seized dairy products worth Rs 34,302.
