पंजाबचे मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान यांनी सांगितले की, केंद्र सरकारने 20 सप्टेंबरपर्यंत पंजाबच्या मंड्यांमधून 18 लाख मेट्रिक टन जुने धान्य हलविण्यास मान्यता दिली आहे. यामुळे राज्यातील अपेक्षित बंपर भात पिकापूर्वी साठवणुकीची जागा रिकामी होईल. केंद्रीय अन्नमंत्र्यांशी झालेल्या बैठकीनंतर मान यांनी ही घोषणा केली.
