Odisha mother saves daughter from hyena attack

A mother in Odisha's Malkangiri district saved her four-year-old daughter from a hyena attack on Monday night. Meke Madkami, a resident of Jandraguda village, heard her child scream and rushed to confront the animal as it tried to drag the sleeping girl from the verandah.

The hyena injured the child on several parts of her body before the mother's intervention forced it to flee. The girl was taken to a hospital in Mathili, where doctors are monitoring her condition.

Forest Department officials visited the hospital and spoke to the family. They are investigating how the hyena entered the village from the nearby forest. The incident has raised concerns among local residents.
