Orient Electric launches battery backup BLDC ceiling fan at Rs 4,594

Orient Electric has launched the Ecotech Volt BLDC ceiling fan, which comes with an in-built battery that keeps it running during power cuts. The fan is priced at Rs 4,594 on the company's website.

The company claims the fan can run for up to 10 hours on a single charge when used at speed 1. It features a 28W BLDC motor that reportedly consumes 50% less electricity than standard induction motor fans. The fan operates in voltage fluctuations from 120V to 280V.

Orient says the battery retains 80% health even after 500 charge cycles. The fan carries a 3-year warranty, while the battery has a separate 1-year warranty. It is available in Glacier Grey and White colour options.
