Orlando Bloom exits Priyanka Chopra’s thriller Reset
Orlando Bloom has walked away from the independent survival thriller Reset, starring Priyanka Chopra, shortly before filming was to begin. The Times of India reports his departure has caused frustration as his involvement was key to securing finances and overseas distribution. The reason for his exit is not known.
The film follows Chopra's character, who wakes up in the wilderness with no memory and must trust a charming stranger. Filmmakers are considering three potential replacements for Bloom, and Chopra, who is also a producer, is expected to have a say in the decision, according to both outlets. The project's future distribution prospects remain uncertain without Bloom's star power.
A decision on the replacement is expected quickly to keep production on schedule.
Indian Opinion Analysis
Both outlets report the same facts neutrally, attributing details to TMZ and Deadline. The Times of India leads with the production disruption, while NDTV emphasises the uncertainty around the film's future and includes the director's praise for the pairing. The core difference is framing: one highlights the scramble, the other the stakes. Neither outlet adds independent reporting, making the coverage uniform wire-style reporting. The decision on a replacement will determine whether the shoot stays on track.
