Pune reel star attacked with sickle, 7 arrested and minor detained

A 19-year-old reel creator, Atharva Jagtap, was attacked with a sickle at Cafe Flying Gypsy in Pune's Deccan area between 3:15am and 3:45am on August 15. Police arrested seven people, including two women, and detained a minor boy. The accused were arrested on Saturday and Sunday, the Deccan police said.

Police said the attack stemmed from a past dispute. Jagtap, who makes reels involving stunts with luxury vehicles, had an argument with the rival group after his car overtook theirs at Kaas Plateau in Satara district. The accused allegedly planned the attack and confronted Jagtap at the cafe, with one blow aimed at his neck.

The arrested accused are Madhavi Kumbhar (23), Snehal Sanjay Sonke (20), Rahul Waghmare (20), Shivanand Talwar (21), Aditya Bhalerao (22), Priyansh Bhosale (22), and Prem Salve (22). They work as delivery executives and flex printers. A case of attempt to murder has been registered. Police are verifying social media exchanges between Jagtap and accused reel creator Madhavi Kumbhar.
