Update, 8 November 2026: Cinema Express and Times of India now report that Ram Pothineni had long been rumoured for the role, with actress Raashii Khanna having posted and deleted a behind-the-scenes photo in September. Cinema Express adds that Ram wrote on X about his honour to share screen space with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, and that the film has completed three schedules. Times of India describes Rajinikanth's role as a 'deadly doctor'.
Indian Opinion Analysis
Most outlets cover the casting as a straight announcement, while m9.news and greatandhra.com adopt a sensationalist tone with phrases like 'much-awaited' and 'powerful intro'. Cinema Express and Times of India provide the richest context, noting earlier rumours and a deleted social media post that had fuelled speculation. The uniform core is that Ram Pothineni has officially joined 'Dharman' as a key lead, with the promo offering the first look at his character. The film has completed three schedules and is expected to be an action drama featuring Rajinikanth as a doctor.
