Ranveer Singh’s zombie thriller Pralay begins shoot in Mumbai

Ranveer Singh's next film, the post-apocalyptic action thriller Pralay, has gone on floors in Mumbai. The film is directed by Jai Mehta, the son of filmmaker Hansal Mehta, and marks the actor's first major project after the Dhurandhar franchise. Malayalam actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, who has worked in Tamil and Telugu cinema, is making her Hindi film debut in a pivotal role, as per 123telugu.com and telugu360.com.

Pralay is described as a zombie thriller set in a dystopian version of Mumbai after a catastrophic event. Bollywood Hungama reports the film is an end-of-the-world action thriller that blends spectacle with human emotion. The makers plan a large-scale production with heavy use of VFX and real locations in Mumbai, with action and survival as core elements.

The film is produced by Ranveer Singh's Maa Kasam Films, Ananya Birla's Birla Studios, and Hansal Mehta and Sahil Saigal's True Story Films. Jai Mehta is making his theatrical directorial debut after co-directing Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story and Lootere. Music is by Achint Thakkar.
