YSRCP MPs call for expanding anti-paper leak law to state exams

YSR Congress Party MPs on Thursday demanded that the proposed Anti-Paper Leak Bill cover examinations conducted by state agencies, not just those of the UPSC, SSC and NTA. In the Rajya Sabha, Y V Subba Reddy also called for the resignation of Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh over alleged irregularities in the DSC-2025 teacher recruitment, claiming papers were leaked and posts sold. Separately, former YSRCP MP V. Vijayasai Reddy said on Saturday that repeated irregularities in recruitment exams at both central and state levels were eroding public confidence, and urged the Narendra Modi government to make recruitment reform a key Independence Day commitment.

Subba Reddy, participating in the Rajya Sabha debate on the bill, alleged that teacher posts were sold and the selection process manipulated in the DSC-2025 exam. He said the Union education minister had resigned over a similar issue and that Nara Lokesh should follow suit. The Hans India reports he also alleged that coaching-centre mafias were involved in paper leaks. Vijayasai Reddy, as reported by Greatandhra, linked recent allegations about UPSC exams to the controversy over APPSC Group-I evaluations in Andhra Pradesh. He warned that when merit is undermined or reservation benefits fail to reach genuine candidates, public trust suffers.

Both MPs called for comprehensive recruitment reforms. Subba Reddy urged the Centre to bring APPSC, DSC and APEAPCET exams under the proposed law. Vijayasai Reddy called for transparency and accountability at every stage of selection, from conducting exams to verifying eligibility. The Anti-Paper Leak Bill is currently under parliamentary consideration.
