Shubman Gill takes stunning catch in Galle Test

Indian captain Shubman Gill took a spectacular diving catch at extra cover on Day 3 of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle on Monday. The catch dismissed Kamindu Mendis off Kuldeep Yadav's bowling.

Commentators Sanjay Manjrekar and Ian Bishop praised the effort. Manjrekar said on air that Gill had no right to take the catch and called it one of the best in that area. Bishop tweeted that the catch was superb.

Earlier, India were bowled out for 462 in the first over of the day as Asitha Fernando dismissed Prasidh Krishna. However, Sri Lanka's top order collapsed, with Mohammed Siraj, Manav Suthar and Kuldeep Yadav taking wickets. At lunch, Sri Lanka were 99 for 5.
