Stanley College orients first-year engineering students in Hyderabad
Stanley College of Engineering and Technology for Women in Hyderabad held an orientation programme for first-year engineering students on 19 August 2026. Industry experts spoke about career opportunities, skill development, and the growing role of artificial intelligence and computerisation in various sectors.
Guests included Sirisha Somayajula, Assistant Vice President, Engineering at Ness Digital Engineering, Upendra Pisupati, Director and Market Leader, US Delivery at Kindryl Solutions, Raj Kumar Bonagiri, Director of Blankup, and Srinivas Kaligatla, Associate Director at IBM Kindryl. Sirisha noted the rapid shift toward AI-driven technologies, while Pisupati highlighted global computerisation trends.
The event was attended by college management, deans, faculty, students, and parents. Principal Dr. B. L. Raju and other officials were present.
Indian Opinion Analysis
The orientation signals a wider push in Indian engineering colleges to align curricula with industry demands, especially in AI and automation. For women-only institutions like Stanley, such exposure is critical as female engineers remain underrepresented in tech leadership. The presence of senior executives from firms like IBM and Ness suggests these companies are investing in early talent pipelines. The next indicator to watch is whether the college revises its syllabus to include dedicated AI modules.
