Suzlon plans 5 GW expansion in Andhra Pradesh by 2030

Suzlon Group plans to add 5 GW of renewable energy capacity in Andhra Pradesh by 2030, with an immediate push from 1,325 MW of new wind projects in the Rayadurg region of Anantapur district. The projects involve an investment of around Rs 10,000 crore and involve clean energy companies including Waaree Energy and Tata Power. They are expected to generate nearly 4,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Telugu360 reports that Minister Nara Lokesh will inaugurate Suzlon's new S144 wind blades at Huliker village on August 25. Suzlon already operates over 1,700 MW of installed wind capacity in the state and has invested about Rs 12,000 crore so far, employing about 2,200 people. Wind Energy Learning Centres at Uravakonda and Vijayawada are training around 12,000 young professionals, 25% of whom are women.

NDTV Profit reports that Suzlon's share price fell despite the expansion plan and a separate partnership with Torrent Green Energy, where Suzlon secured its sixth order, taking total capacity with the group to 1.3 GW.
