Telangana police detain BRS leaders before Revanth Reddy meet

Telangana police took several BRS leaders and cadres into preventive custody in Sangareddy on Saturday, hours before Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s public meeting. Those detained were moved to Indrakaran police station, about 10 km from the town.

Telangana Today reports that the BRS party had planned no protests, yet police acted preemptively. The move drew sharp criticism from BRS leaders, who raised slogans against the police and the Congress government. Party leader Chintha Sainath visited the police station and demanded the immediate release of all detained members.

The preventive custody highlights ongoing tensions between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS in Telangana. No official statement from the police or the state government has been reported yet.
