Tiger drags horse into forest near Ramnagar, video surfaces

A tiger dragged a horse into a forest near Ramnagar in Uttarakhand's Kosi range on Thursday, with a video of the incident going viral on social media. The Aaj Tak report says the attack happened in the Jhulapul area near Garjia, in broad daylight, close to human habitation and tourist spots.

The video shows the tiger carrying the horse in its mouth and moving swiftly towards the forest. People can be heard recording the incident. The presence of a tiger in an area with regular human activity has raised concerns about human-wildlife conflict. Locals are worried about the safety of their livestock and have urged the forest department to increase surveillance.

Wildlife experts quoted by Aaj Tak said that tiger behavior depends on circumstances and no conclusion should be drawn from a single daytime sighting. The forest department is expected to step up monitoring in the area where the tiger has been active.
