Trump endorses Saritha Komatireddy in New York attorney general race

President Donald Trump has endorsed Republican candidate Saritha Komatireddy for New York attorney general, calling incumbent Democrat Letitia James a "total disaster". Komatireddy, 41, is a former federal prosecutor and partner at law firm Holtzman Vogel. She thanked Trump for the endorsement. James's office pursued a civil fraud case against Trump and his company.

Komatireddy is the daughter of Indian immigrants from Telangana and a mother of four. She graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School, and clerked for Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Hindustan Times reports her campaign has raised about $1.16 million, with the largest contributor being Geetha Komatireddy. Her net worth is not publicly known from her career alone.

Komatireddy's campaign focuses on public safety and criticises James for focusing on political matters. The general election is in November.
