Yash clarifies Rs 4,000 crore Ramayana budget covers both parts and marketing

Actor Yash has clarified that the widely reported Rs 4,000 crore budget for the film Ramayana is not limited to the production cost of the first part. Speaking on Aap Ki Adalat with Rajat Sharma, Yash said the figure includes the combined investment for both parts of the franchise along with global marketing and release plans, as reported by cinemaexpress.com and m9.news.

Yash explained that the strategy follows Hollywood's model of factoring worldwide promotion into the overall budget. Co-producer Namit Malhotra had previously mentioned the figure, but many assumed it referred only to the first instalment, leading to social media speculation, according to m9.news. The actor also said he chose to play Ravan because presenting a formidable opponent enhances Lord Ram's impact.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravan, with DNEG handling VFX. Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled for release overseas on November 6 and in India on November 8, with Part 2 planned for Diwali 2027.
