Yash says Rs 4,000 crore Ramayana budget includes global marketing

Actor Yash, who co-produces the two-part epic Ramayana, has clarified that the reported Rs 4,000 crore budget covers more than production costs. Speaking on Aap Ki Adalat, the actor said the figure includes global marketing and release plans, similar to how Hollywood budgets international campaigns for worldwide theatrical releases. Yash also said both Ramayana and his upcoming film Toxic are being planned for a global audience.

Yash explained he chose to play Ravan over Lord Ram because the epic's impact depends on presenting Ravan as a formidable opponent. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Ravan, with DNEG handling visual effects. The actor said the challenge is balancing big-screen entertainment with the cultural and religious values of the Ramayana.

Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled for overseas release on November 6 and in India on November 8. Part 2 is planned for Diwali 2027.
