Ranbir Kapoor, Yash’s Ramayana trimmed 33 minutes for China

Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash, will reportedly be 33 minutes shorter in its Chinese version than the Indian cut. According to Times Now, the mythological epic has been retitled Ramayana: The Legend of the Prince for China's theatrical release on November 6, two days before India's November 8 opening.

A source told Mid-Day that the edits follow China's Film Industry Promotion Law, which bans content undermining state religious policies or promoting heresy. The report said the Chinese censorship system must grant approval before release. Times Now noted the changes could affect how devotional elements are presented.

The makers have not officially confirmed the runtime difference. Ramayana's cast includes Ranbir as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. The film is produced by Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations. Part one releases in India on November 8, with part two due next Diwali.
