Two DU students arrested for harassing women in Mukherjee Nagar

Two Delhi University students were arrested on Friday after two Hindu College students alleged that a group of men harassed them and tried to pull them into a car in Mukherjee Nagar, police said. The Times of India reports that the accused, identified as Abhinav and Abhimanyu, are DU students. NDTV adds that both are first-year law students. The SUV allegedly used in the incident was seized, and police are searching for other men who were reportedly in the vehicle.

According to the complaint, the women were walking on Wednesday evening when a white car approached and the men passed comments. When the women objected, the men allegedly abused them and tried to pull them into the car. The accused fled after the complainant's friend started filming. An FIR was registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for stalking and insulting the modesty of a woman. Police identified the driver as Naman, also a DU student, and efforts are on to nab him.
