AAI profit drops 9.8% to ₹6,522 crore in FY26

The Airports Authority of India's net profit fell 9.8 per cent to ₹6,522.37 crore in FY2025-26 from ₹7,233.28 crore the previous year, The Hindu Businessline reports. Total revenue edged down to ₹20,526.46 crore from ₹20,648.25 crore, while expenses rose 6.34 per cent to ₹11,689.36 crore.

Revenue from airport leases, including public-private partnership airports, dropped sharply to ₹5,824.99 crore from ₹7,376.82 crore. The fall in profit also reflects an exceptional item of ₹254.54 crore booked in connection with alleged employee embezzlement at Dehradun and Jaipur airports. Employee benefit costs rose to ₹4,873.69 crore, operating expenses to ₹2,666.43 crore, and administrative costs to ₹1,126.21 crore.

AAI declared a total dividend of ₹1,956.71 crore to the central government, 30 per cent of PAT. It transferred ₹1,826.26 crore to the Airport Development Reserve and ₹2,739.40 crore to the General Reserve. The decline comes after PAT had jumped 55.5 per cent in FY2024-25.
