Agra father throws 11-month-old into Yamuna, arrested

An 11-month-old baby girl was allegedly thrown into the Yamuna River by her father, Rinku, in Agra on Friday evening. The incident occurred near the Yamuna bridge in the Sikandra police station area. Police arrested Rinku after questioning, and he allegedly confessed to the act.

Police said a domestic dispute had been ongoing between Rinku and his wife for six to seven months, fueled by his suspicions about her. The family was travelling when Rinku took the infant to the river and threw her in. Multiple police teams and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) are searching the river for the child.

DCP City Agra Syed Ali Abbas confirmed the search operation. Police are investigating the exact sequence of events and the motive behind the alleged crime. The case has shocked the local community.
