Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan use headphones for late-night sports

Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he and his son Abhishek watch late-night sports matches without disturbing wife and mother Jaya Bachchan by using headphones and keeping the volume low. The veteran actor shared the anecdote while hosting the latest episode of the quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati season 18.

Bollywood Hungama and Hindustan Times report that when a contestant asked if Jaya objects to watching matches at home, Amitabh confirmed it and explained their solution: they installed a separate TV and convinced Jaya to go to sleep while they watch all night. To prevent the sound from travelling downstairs, they sometimes use headphones or keep the volume low.

However, the actor admitted that silence becomes difficult when their favourite team wins. He said he and Abhishek often shout in excitement, waking Jaya, who then asks what happened. They then have to explain that their team scored a goal or hit a six.
