Anthropic CEO’s wife pitched luxury porn startup to Jeffrey Epstein in 2011

Cami Clark, wife of Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, sought investment from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in 2011 for a women-focused pornography startup called Eddice, according to recently released government files cited by the Wall Street Journal.

The Times of India reports that literary agent John Brockman introduced Clark and her business partner Michelle Capocefalo to Epstein, then a registered sex offender. Clark emailed Epstein describing the venture as a "free luxury porn company." Epstein declined to invest. Clark then pitched him a social dieting app, and their correspondence continued for about two years, including a housewarming invitation.

Clark later entered a three-year relationship with former Google CEO Eric Schmidt starting in 2011, who invested in one of her health ventures. She began dating Amodei in 2014 and helped bring Schmidt to invest in Anthropic's $124 million Series A round in 2021, though her proposal to formalise a financial role was rejected by Anthropic. She now acts as an unofficial strategic adviser to Amodei.
