Ayushmann Khurrana’s Udta Teer postponed to October 23
Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan's spy comedy Udta Teer has been postponed from October 9 to October 23, 2026. The makers of the Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment film said they wanted a cleaner release window and a stronger theatrical runway instead of compromising on screens in a crowded marketplace.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh called the move a smart and sensible decision. The film follows a Pakistani spy who loses his memory in India and becomes a patriot instead. It features an ensemble cast including Gulshan Grover, Ram Kapoor, and the late Mukul Dev.
The postponement avoids a clash with Drishyam 3, which released on October 2. The new date gives Udta Teer two weeks of run before the Ramayana film arrives.
Indian Opinion Analysis
Both outlets report the postponement factually, but Times Now adds the specific context of Drishyam 3's release on October 2 as the reason, citing the makers' statement about a crowded marketplace and quoting netizens praising the move. Bollywood Hungama omits the competing film and frames the delay only as seeking a clearer period. The difference is one of context rather than stance: Times Now's wider competitive landscape explains the decision more fully. The next watch item is the film's performance when it releases on October 23.
