Ben Rice homer lifts Yankees past Blue Jays 4-3

Ben Rice hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the 10th inning as the New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-3 on Sunday, avoiding a three-game sweep. Rice's first hit of the series came off Braydon Fisher. Tim Hill allowed an RBI single to Andres Gimenez in the bottom half but held on for his second save.

Toronto erased a 2-1 deficit in the ninth. Josh Smith reached on Rice's fielding error and Alejandro Kirk walked. Ernie Clement tied the game with a sacrifice fly. David Bednar blew his third save but stranded the winning run. Yankees left-hander Ryan Weathers allowed one run in 7 1/3 innings. Toronto's Dylan Cease struck out 10 in 6 1/3 innings, boosting his AL-leading total to 201.
