White Sox sweep Tigers, extend AL Central lead to 5.5 games

The Chicago White Sox completed a three-game road sweep of the Detroit Tigers with a 7-5 win on Sunday, extending their lead in the American League Central to a season-high 5.5 games. Munetaka Murakami hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning to rally Chicago from a 4-1 deficit. Drew Romo and Miguel Vargas also homered for the White Sox, who have won six of their last eight games.

Colt Keith hit a solo home run for Detroit, and Brett Callahan had a two-run triple in his major league debut. The Tigers dropped to second place, 5.5 games behind the division-leading White Sox. Chicago last swept a three-game series in Detroit in 2022.
