Bobby Deol gets emotional recalling Dharmendra at Jagran Film Festival

At the 14th Rajnigandha Presents Jagran Film Festival, actor Bobby Deol became emotional while remembering his father, veteran actor Dharmendra, and the family's journey in cinema. Speaking in a session titled "Courage to Begin Again: Inside one of Indian Cinema's Most Remarkable Reinventions," Bobby recalled starting his career at age five or six by playing Dharmendra's younger self on screen. Years later, their professional connection came full circle when Bobby dubbed for his father's voice in Dharmendra's final film, Ikkis, for scenes where the character was shown younger.

Bobby expressed gratitude that his father saw both his sons succeed after a dull period in their careers. "We were going through a very dull period in our careers. But we both succeeded in the same year. And papa saw that… That now you've recognised yourself as an actor," he said. The conversation also highlighted the importance of family support throughout his career.
