Cameron Brink out for Sparks vs Mystics due to rib injury

Los Angeles Sparks centre Cameron Brink was ruled out of Saturday's WNBA game against the Washington Mystics after her status was downgraded from questionable to out hours before tipoff. The 24-year-old suffered a rib injury during Thursday's loss to the New York Liberty after taking an apparent elbow from Breanna Stewart while defending. Brink needed assistance to leave the court and did not return despite only six minutes remaining.

Before exiting, Brink had nine points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and three blocks in 19 minutes. She is averaging career-best numbers of 9.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.7 blocks per game this season. Her 1.7 blocks per game rank third in the WNBA. The Sparks were looking to end a three-game losing streak against the Mystics.
