Disha Salian’s father serves Rs 500 crore defamation notice to Aaditya Thackeray

Satish Salian, father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian, served a defamation notice to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai on Saturday. The notice, delivered through advocate Nilesh Ojha, demands a public apology and Rs 500 crore in compensation over Thackeray's social media post denying any connection to Salian's death and alleging political motives. Salian said he wanted to show the "power of the common man" and denied any political agenda. He also alleged his lawyers were threatened by Sena (UBT) leaders.

Aaditya Thackeray has denied knowing or meeting Disha Salian and called the repeated linking of his name an "evidence-free" character assassination attempt. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve called the notice a "publicity stunt". The CBI is conducting a fresh probe into Disha Salian's June 2020 death, which was initially recorded as an accident, following a Bombay High Court directive. The FIR includes Thackeray and several others as persons whose roles require investigation.
