Drugs worth lakhs seized in Palakkad, three held

The Palakkad police arrested three people, including a woman, with a large consignment of drugs after a three-hour search of their vehicle in the early hours of Monday. The suspects were intercepted at Olavakkode Junction near Palakkad following surveillance by the district anti-narcotics special action force (DANSAF).

The arrested are Mohammed Nishi, 26, of Kanjirappally, Mohammed Azurudeen, 30, of Vengara, and Fatima, 27, of Dakshina Kannada. Police seized cocaine, brown sugar, LSD stamps, and hybrid cannabis, which were specially wrapped and concealed near the vehicle's diesel tank.

The police suspect the trio are key members of a network supplying drugs to Kerala. Investigations are under way to trace the source of the drugs, the financial network, and the wider distribution chain.
