DSEK revises school timings across Kashmir from 15 October
The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has revised school timings across the Kashmir Division with effect from 15 October. Schools within Srinagar Municipal limits will run from 10 am to 3:30 pm, while those outside the municipal limits and in other areas of the Kashmir Province will operate from 10:30 am to 4 pm.
The order, issued on 14 October, applies to all government and recognised private schools across the division. The DSEK has directed heads of institutions to ensure strict compliance without deviation.
Indian Opinion Analysis
Both outlets report the same DSEK order with near-identical language and no editorial framing. Rising Kashmir and Greater Kashmir each describe the revised timings, the two geographic schedules, and the directive for strict compliance. Neither outlet adds commentary, quotes an official, or includes any political or administrative context. The coverage is uniform straight reporting. The new 10 am start, half an hour later than the usual winter timing in previous years, shifts the school day back, but the sources do not specify the reason or the previous schedule.
