Bihar man posing as IAS officer and NSA agent arrested

A man impersonating an IAS officer and claiming to be an undercover agent of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has been arrested in Bihar's Khagaria district. Police say Manish Kumar Gupta alias Chikku, a Jamalpur resident, was running fraudulent operations across the state using fake government credentials. A seven-and-a-half-hour raid at his premises on Saturday yielded a Tesla car with full self-driving capability, a Tata Safari, over 31 litres of imported liquor, barasingha antlers, five iPhones, and 20 credit cards.

Khagaria SP Bhanu Pratap Singh said Gupta produced a Central Vigilance Commission card and an IAS identity, both found to be fake. Authorities have registered cases under the Excise Act and Wildlife Protection Act. The Economic Offences Unit of Bihar Police has been roped in to probe the source of his wealth, which one report estimated at over Rs 100 crore. Police are verifying vehicle documents and the authenticity of government markings on the seized cars.
